How to get there from each area
- Campo de Salamanca
- From Salamanca, the road to Madrid is the A-50 to Ávila and then the AP-51 and AP-6, which crosses the Guadarrama range through the tunnel; it is a little over two hundred kilometres. For Barajas the route joins the M-40 or M-50 on reaching Madrid. By rail there are direct services to Madrid-Chamartín.
- Tierra de Alba
- From Alba de Tormes the usual route is up to Salamanca or out to the A-50 towards Ávila, then on along the AP-51 and AP-6 to Madrid; for Barajas the trip continues on Madrid's ring roads.
- Tierra de Peñaranda
- Peñaranda has direct access to the A-50 towards Ávila, and from there to Madrid by the AP-51 and AP-6. Since it does not need to go through Salamanca, it is the province's most direct way out towards Barajas.
- Sierra de Béjar
- From Béjar the route runs north on the A-66 to Salamanca, then the A-50 towards Ávila and the AP-6 to Madrid. In winter, snow in the mountains can make early-morning departures harder.
- Guijuelo y Salvatierra
- Guijuelo sits beside the A-66: the route goes north to Salamanca and continues on the A-50, AP-51 and AP-6 to Madrid, then on the M-40 or M-50 if heading for Barajas.
- Campo de Ciudad Rodrigo
- From Ciudad Rodrigo the route is the A-62 to Salamanca, then on to Madrid by the A-50, AP-51 and AP-6. It is one of the parts of the province furthest from Barajas, so early flights mean leaving in the middle of the night.
