• Salamanca's September fair (September): The Virgen de la Vega festivities fill Salamanca in early September, with concerts, bullfights and a busy nightlife. The centre has road closures and late-night returns to the villages are the most sought after.
• Holy Week in Salamanca (Easter week): The processions wind through the old town and coincide with many visitors and with holiday departures towards Barajas. Streets close as the brotherhoods pass, and the pickup point should be outside the route.

Tip: To go up to La Covatilla in winter, mention if you are carrying skis or a board, and check the resort is open before booking.
